Commercial Placement

We are looking for six high-calibre undergraduate students to join our Commercial department on a 12 month placement. Whether you are looking to gain experience in Sales, Marketing, eCommerce or Revenue, we have a range of placements available within our highly talented team.

A bit about the team(s)

You will be asked to select your top three choices of Commercial Internship in order of preference, so here’s a bit about what each team does;

Regional Marketing, eCommerce & Digital Acquisitions

This is a varied role whereby you will support the marketing and ecommerce teams to deliver Hilton’s service proposition across our EMEA hotel portfolio. You will support in planning communications to key internal and external stakeholders as well as other administrative tasks. You will support commercial leads and teams of specialists where required to ensure hotels leverage central and regional campaigns to best effect. This will includes conducting content audits to enhance the overall experience of Hilton's branded digital outlets and communicating opportunities to the appropriate parties.

Corporate Sales

This internship offers the opportunity to gain an insight into the Hilton Worldwide Sales Agency team. The role involves supporting the team with meeting and events enquiries from key clients for our hotels globally. This support will be both administrative and proactive. Additional areas of responsibility include providing management reports, maintaining and updating customer records, working on regular newsletters and promotional emails as well as a wide range of ad hoc projects.

Digital Marketing

The Digital Marketing team are responsible for Hilton’s online partnerships across Europe, Middle East & Africa. You will get to work with media agency experts and some of our biggest partners, such as Expedia, and will play a key role in helping manage, deliver and optimise digital media activity. This will include understanding the role of machine learning in our digital marketing activity, working on marketing campaigns, and forming working relationships with agencies and partners. Throughout the internship, you will be encouraged to proactively seek out opportunities to test, trial and innovate with our key partners.

Customer Engagement, Loyalty and Partnerships

The CELP team drive engagement across our Loyalty Programme (Hilton Honors), the Customer Lifecycle and our Partnerships & Sponsorships across Europe, Middle East and Africa. This internship offers a unique level of exposure into both global customer strategy and the wider hospitality industry. You will support our hotels and stakeholders across EMEA with new Hilton Honors features, Financial Partnerships, Lifecycle (CRM) activities and Partnership and Sponsorship activities. You will also collate and analyse data on engagement and performance, and will have the opportunity to input your own ideas as to how we can drive our Loyalty Program, Partnerships and overall brand presence.

Sales and Revenue Management Rotation

This role will offer opportunities for possible international travel as well as exposure to both Sales, and Revenue Management. You will spend six months in each of these departments, tackling various projects along the way and gaining real insight into what it takes to operate a world leading hospitality brand. You will spend time shadowing our Revenue Analysts and Cluster Revenue Managers in order to gain understanding of Hilton’s Pricing and Commercial model. You will also support the Sales team to drive a range of sales opportunities within Conferences & Events and Leisure Sales across the Hilton brand portfolio.

Marketing Operations

If you have a passion for brand marketing and delivering creative campaigns then this could be the internship for you. You will have the opportunity to work on brand marketing campaigns across EMEA, gaining exposure in the creation of landing pages and other marketing and communications collateral, and liaising with agencies and the regional marketing teams. You will help to manage artificial intelligence and machine learning capability in our email channels to enhance our personalisation efforts, as well as having responsibility for ongoing competitor analysis. Your daily tasks will involve frequent communication with cross functional partners across the business and our regional counterparts.

A bit about the job

As an intern, you will be an integral part of the team and will play an active role in our continued success. You will carry out a range of administrative/support activities, as well as having ownership of your own project based initiatives.

What are we looking for?

As with any job, we do have certain criteria that you will need to meet in order to be considered for one of these highly sought after opportunities. These are detailed as follows;

  • Must be in your second year of undergraduate study at the point of application
  • Must be available to start in June 2020, for the full 12 months.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK. If you are a non-EU national then you will need to be studying at a UK university in order to be eligible to undertake a placement here.
  • You should be able to demonstrate a genuine desire to work in a fast-paced, commercial role
  • A proactive, common sense approach
  • Well organised and assertive, with a high degree of positivity and drive
