Sales and Marketing Placement

The Sales & Marketing undergraduate will have the opportunity to work within our Fleet department, where our Business to Business Customer Portfolio is managed (meaning companies who lease our vehicles for business purposes).

Volkswagen Financial Services is on a journey to transform its fleet business. The Business Performance position is an exciting opportunity for a student to join a top 6 Fleet News (FN50) leasing business and gain experience in a number of disciplines in the Volkswagen Financial Services Fleet operation.

About the role

We’re a busy Sales and Marketing area and are constantly looking for ways to improve our customer experience as well as promoting and providing new products and services which support their business needs and deliver on our sales target. During your placement year you will:

• Co-ordinate and track key initiatives with our Brands
• Conduct market research, data collation and analysis against specified projects within the Fleet division
• Be responsible for conducting competitor and market behaviour and benchmarking analysis
• Spend time on the quality of Fleet’s procedures and undertake continuous improvement to eliminate customer dissatisfaction, reduce operational losses and improve efficiency
• Own the ‘Hot Stock’ process with our brands, communicating to the Sales Team to drive sales from stock

About you

• Studying towards a Business related degree
• Be able to demonstrate research and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to manage relationships up to Director Level
• Entrepreneurship and a drive to succeed
• High attention to detail and analytical skills
• Excellent PC skills, especially MS Office applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• An interest in the automotive and leasing sector.
