Our French Power Trading department is responsible for optimizing group assets, hedging and taking speculative risk on the French power market. The desk trades both short and long-term power for the French markets, managing cross-border interconnector capacities as well as intraday and day-ahead optimization activities for the EDF Group in the wholesale electricity market.
You will gain exposure to the day to day activities of our French power trading desk by providing support to the traders as needed, predominantly by maintaining and developing models and tools.
Your main tasks may include:
You will liaise with various stakeholders including members of the power analysis team, IT and trading desks as appropriate.
You will be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Maths, Economics or Engineering. You will have experience in a general-purpose programming language, ideally python. You will be proficient in VBA and Matlab. You will also be expected to have some knowledge of the global energy markets.
