Marketing Associate Placement

The Marketing Associate will play an important role in content creation, lead generation, campaign coordination, web management and event management when necessary. You will learn about communication, branding, new business development, campaign execution, budgeting, planning and marketing management.

Content Creation

  • Working with Balloon’s copywriting agency to produce new content based on industry trends and the value proposition of Balloon’s product portfolio.
  • Creation of assets to support Springboard Applications’ product releases.
  • Creative activities such as whitepaper and digital asset design using the Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
  • Co-writing/ managing the Balloon website’s blogposts
  • Manage content uploads to both the Balloon and Springboard Applications websites and the subsequent distribution of content on social media channels (primarily LinkedIn).
  • Organisational assistance and eventually the management of exhibitions and conferences showcasing Balloon’s services.
  • Partner management- working with HighJump, SAP and Oracle to distribute up to date content and align Balloon’s messaging with partners.
  • Working alongside the training manager to repurpose internal content for external use.

Lead Nurturing

  • Working alongside the marketing manager to nurture leads before being passed over to the sales team.
  • Assisting the sales team to provide necessary material to aid in the sales process.
  • Remarketing activities, such as email campaigns, to old leads within the Balloon One database.

Exposure

Internally, the role will provide exposure to all of Balloon’s functions (sales, consultancy, development and support). Subsequently, the Marketing Associate will build a large amount of product knowledge during the placement. Externally, the role allows for building a large network with both software partners and customers.

Training

Within the first 3 months of employment it is expected that the Marketing Associate will have a base understanding of the products and processes within the business. Within this time

  • 60% learning on the job
  • 30% learning from your manager, peers and mentor
  • 10% learning through structured courses and role-specific training

Requirements

  • You must be enrolled on an undergraduate degree that allows you to complete 12-months placement starting between July and September 2019
  • A degree in Marketing is not necessary, instead we are looking for examples of writing ability and an eye for design
  • Excellent Written Communication
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator)
  • Well-developed analytical skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Passion for technology
  • Fluency in English
  • Full work authorization is required

Additional Benefits

  • Gross salary between £16,000 – £17,500
  • Bonus structure that equates to 20% of the employee’s gross salary per quarter if all targets are met.

Ideal Candidate

Motivated, independent student who is currently on course for a 2:1 degree with the following key competencies:

  • Previous office work experience would be an advantage but not essential
  • Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Creative Cloud Products (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign)
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Positive attitude towards a challenge
  • Time Management
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion
  • High energy level
  • Effective communicator / good interpersonal skills
  • Inquisitive and not afraid to ask questions
