Trainee Business Intelligence Analyst

This year another opportunity exists for an enthusiastic individual studying an Information Technology related course to join the Supply Chain Business Intelligence Team within the IT Department. This role is based in Howden, East Yorkshire and is a 12 month contract.

The major areas of development will be:

• Exposure to new technologies and skills
• Contribution to reporting design, testing and support, production of report design and support documentation as required
• Report development in SAP BEx Query Designer, SAP Business Objects (BI 4.1), data visualisation and dashboard tools
• Regular interaction with end users and stakeholder management
• Supporting delivery of end user training
• Use of testing management tools and documenting testing outcomes

Key skills required:

• You need to be self-motivated and analytical, a confident communicator, organised and able to work in a structured environment with challenging deadlines.
• Knowledge of database structure and business intelligence concepts, an understanding of testing methodologies and stakeholder management techniques would be an advantage.
• You will be expected to manage conflicting priorities and your own workload to the end users satisfaction and to have the ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt your current skills to the differing scenarios you will come across.
• With the increasing growth of Howdens and the requirement to provide a class A service to our customers, you can be sure of a diverse and challenging workload.

Duration: We'd be looking for you to start on 25th June 2018 so we can ensure a comprehensive handover with our current Industrial Placement Student, although this is negotiable. The placement would be for 12 months.
