Product Design Placement

There has never been a more exciting time to join the pladis UK Intern Programme!

Use your creativity, baking skills and knowledge to develop products for the UK’s leading biscuit manufacturing company.

About the role

Joining the UK design team for your 12 month placement, you will have a direct influence on what the nation will be eating in the months and years ahead. You will work both independently and as part of a team to bring these products to the shelves. This will be achieved by developing recipes at bench scale in our test bakery, to be tasted by marketing and the team. Scaling these recipes up for pilot plant and factory trials across the UK and Europe, building your technical knowledge. This will give you the opportunity to view all stages of product development and work collaboratively with other functions such as marketing, process and packaging development and nutrition. You will also gain a great understanding of the importance of brands and our consumers in shaping product design.

What you can expect:

  • To develop practical skills and technical knowledge in the test bakery, pilot plant and factory environments
  • Ownership of projects, with support from your line manager, giving you the freedom to grow while challenging your ideas
  • Understanding of how product development works in a large company and our stage and gate process
  • A community of interns, with whom you will collaborate with in a business project to help fuel our future growth
  • Take part in the intern development programme, including modules such as presentation skills and learn more about how FMCG companies operate
  • Opportunity to visit some of our factories in the UK
