IT Compliance and Desktop Support

We are looking to recruit an Industrial Placement student for 12 months within our Business Support Office function at Marston Green, Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world renowned aerospace company and gain valuable experience in key areas of Information Technology.

The role gives the successful candidate both hands on and external experience of Information Technology. This includes supporting the Desktop Support engineer, with installation of equipment and resolving users’ issues. The successful candidate will also handle IT Controls Compliance activities and adherence monitoring, ensuring that Marston Green’s 350+ users are complying with UTC’s IT Policies.

There may be opportunities to get involved with ongoing IT projects involving the Marston Green site, to ensure the student is getting as much experience in the work place as possible.

The role comes with the following responsibilities:

• Maintain and improve IT Controls adherence
• Update IT procedures and Standard Work where applicable
• Perform recurring activities that measure IT Compliance
• Installation of equipment such as monitors, laptops and desktops
• Creating business relationships
• Support other Ad Hoc departmental activities

The student must be able to demonstrate:

• Good communication skills
• Existing IT knowledge
• Work ethic and drive

The position has a salary of £17,494 along with 25 days paid annual holiday.

IMPORTANT: Candidates must be able to commit to the full 12 month placement (apart from the above holidays).
