Business - Electrified Vehicle Product Development - Placement

Be a part of the Product Development team for one of the country’s leading engineering companies. We are looking for talented individuals to undertake a 12-month paid work placement, as part of our Business Placement Programme. Successful candidates would work in our Product Development department, starting in September 2018.


Global impact


Working with engineers from all over the world, you will help develop and implement integrated Vehicle, Powertrain and Infrastructure solutions to deliver Fords Smart Mobility and Electrified Vehicle strategies. The work is challenging, interesting and varied, and provides opportunities to build relationships on an international level, whilst working with fast-moving emerging technologies.



Where you will be based


Our global centres of excellence for both commercial vehicles and powertrains are based in Dunton and Dagenham in South Essex. Our Dunton centre is at the forefront of developing Commercial Vehicles, including the five times International Van of the Year Award winner Transit, alongside Hybrid/Electrified powertrain, gasoline and diesel products that improve fuel economy while reducing CO2, and supporting Ford’s Smart Mobility programs.  It’s a global team, so you may be required to travel to any Ford location worldwide.

Who we’re looking for

  • Students who are working towards a degree in applied Electrical, Electronic, Controls Systems, Software Engineering or Computer Sciences.

  • The ability to communicate clearly in writing, over the phone and face to face
.
  • Strong team working and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and concepts, and to deliver complex system-level solutions.
