About The Body Shop

Inspirational people are at the core of our success. We are a family of bold, unique and passionate employees who make The Body Shop a dynamic and exciting place to work – believe us when we say there is never a dull day here.

When you come into work on a Monday you can guarantee that your week will be filled with celebrations of TBS’s successes, freebies, office parties, team lunches, invites to talks of TBS’s latest global adventures… plus any excuse for free cake. This is just the start, wait until you find out what you’ll get up to in your exciting new role…

Property Placement

The Body Shop offers the unique opportunity to work alongside our Property Director for our Retail stores. As the Property Intern you will ensure that the strategic programme for store openings, renewals and closures are maintained in line with the strategic business objectives and timelines.

Your Role

During your internship you will report and prepare papers to be signed off by the Board Directors and provide support across the Property and Maintenance functions. You will attend meetings with both internal teams and external agents such as Real Estate Advisors and Lawyers, which will not only give you a broader understanding of The Body Shop, but the Property industry as a whole.

This role will play a crucial role in long-term projects, for example the current Property Intern has been working on strategic store relocations, as well as the opening of new discount outlet stores. You will be involved in the full project lifecycle, from writing reports for Board approval, shop fittings, store visits to assess progress and then celebrating the store openings.

You will provide support to and engage with key stakeholders as well as working and negotiating with other functions across the business such as Finance and Legal. You will be responsible for collating and preparing financial models and evaluations as well as reporting to the Property Director regularly and providing them with project updates. You will spend time travelling; carrying out store visits and attending meetings.

Travel

The successful candidate will spend around one day a week travelling to different stores across the UK and attending meetings with external agents including Architects. This requires a full UK driving license and access to a car.

The ideal undergraduate

  • An interest in property is desirable
  • A full UK driving license is required due to the travel requirements of this role
  • Be adaptable to working in different environments
  • Strong interpersonal and time-management skills
  • Be able to work autonomously

Want to join TBS global family?

In return for your contribution to the success of TBS, you will get the responsibility, training and respect of a full-time employee (you will be doing a hell of a lot more than making tea). You will also get a salary of £16,000, 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, 50% off TBS products, discounted cinema tickets, 3 paid days to spend volunteering, free gym vouchers and £100 to spend on learning new skills or on fitness and wellbeing.
