IT Business Systems Analyst Placement
Spending your placement within Caterpillar’s Global Information Services team will give you a broad experience in all disciplines of Information Services, covering some of the selected applications used within end to end business processes (Engineering, Manufacturing, Enterprise Resource Planning, Finance, Sales and Marketing). It will also provide good practical experience of project life-cycle management methodologies and core ITIL processes including Incident/Problem & Change.
What experiences can we offer you?
Business Systems Analyst:
As part of the team you will have the opportunity to work on multiple IT projects across multiple business functions, for example within Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, Sales and Aftermarket groups. The role will involve you having responsibility for gathering requirements, analysis, functional design, development specifications and testing.
As part of this project team you may be called upon to work with people across the globe as the business functions serve CAT facilities in the UK, US, China, Brazil, Mexico and India.
Business Systems Support Analyst:
As part of the team based in Peterborough you will be required to provide operational support across multiple globally used applications using ITIL processes including incident, problem and change management.
In both roles you will be supported by IT professionals who have multiple years of experience in IT Project Management, Systems Design and Business Analysis as well as receiving appropriate training to gain a wider industry knowledge to perform the role expected..
Upon completion of the year you will have gained experience and knowledge of multitude of business processes and Information Systems and an appreciation of what it takes to support and maintain small and corporate scale IT solutions.
What are we looking for?
Knowledge and genuine interest in business information systems. You will be diligent with a focus on quality, ability to work independently and within a team using your initiative. Excellent communication skills are required to interact with people from the business at all levels.
Degree Disciplines Accepted: All Computing Subjects. You will be on track to achieve at least a 2:1.
