Locations & Analytics – Associate Consultant
Javelin Group’s Locations & Analytics practice provides a scientific approach to location research and data analytics in the retail and ecommerce sectors. The team helps retailers and brands to optimise their store portfolios and data assets through a combination of advanced analytics and the deployment of market leading business intelligence software tools such as Alteryx and Tableau.
In recent years, the practice has delivered retail location strategy work to 200+ leading retailers and 250+ shopping centre developments. With over 25 years of experience, the team goes well beyond the traditional scope of location analysis, combining and analysing data from a wide variety of sources to deliver high-quality, fact-based, actionable, future-proofed evaluations of store portfolios and retail-led developments.
Job Description
The analyst will work within the Locations & Analytics team providing research and data to support the delivery of successful client projects. The position would involve:
- Data research, preparation and interpretation
- Data modelling and performance analysis e.g. regression modelling, gravity modelling
- Field visits to stores and shopping centres
- Day to day management of team admin
Skills Required
A successful candidate for this position would have the following profile:
ESSENTIAL
- Relevant degree (including geography, analytics, statistics etc.)
- Strong A-Levels (minimum 3 Bs)
- Strong organisational skills and professional manner
- Analytical mind with good mathematics and literacy skills
- Friendly and outgoing personality
- Confident, proactive and adaptable
- Articulate, literate and professional at all times
DESIRABLE
- Basic understanding of Alteryx and Tableau
- Experience of GIS programs (e.g. MapInfo, ArcGIS)
- Experience of Microsoft Office (esp. PowerPoint, Excel)
- Full Driving Licence
