About Cancer Research UK

Our pioneering research delivers the breakthroughs which prevent, control and cure cancer. From our volunteers and supporters to our scientists, doctors and nurses, we’re all here to save more lives. Together, we’re leading the world in discovering and developing newer, kinder treatments, and we want you to be part of the journey that will bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

Spring Internships

In January, Cancer Research UK are offering around 25 internships to high-calibre individuals looking to gain experience in the fields of fundraising, marketing, communications, business strategy, design and more. In the past, our interns have done everything from supporting large-scale fundraising events and designing graphical content for print, digital and social media, to creating scientific resources for the health sector. Our 12 week long internships are projects delivering above and beyond the work we already do, meaning that every hour our interns give brings us one step closer to beating cancer.

Whether you’re a school leaver, graduate, or looking for a career change, you’ll be developing your skills at one of the UK’s leading charities. Whatever project you take on, you’ll have a dedicated intern manager who will support you through your projects and a mentor who will help you accelerate your personal development. We’ll also provide you with networking opportunities and training to enhance your employability. All of our internships are performed on a voluntary basis, but we will reimburse reasonable lunch and travel expenses.

Our requirements

You need to be a strategic thinker, numerate and literate and also have confidence in using basic PC applications. You will need to be a good communicator and be able to take initiative. Please take a look at the individual internship stream profiles to confirm the specific skill requirements of each role.

At CRUK we value diversity and we’re committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone is able to be themselves and to reach their full potential. We actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and cultures and believe that a diverse workforce will help us to beat cancer sooner. We only require that you are aged 18 or above when you start the internship and that you have the right to live and work in the UK.
