About Financial Conduct Authority
We're at a pivotal time in the history of financial services regulation and what happens next depends on the people who work for the FCA. Our people are our greatest asset − that is why we invest in the best people in the business.
At the FCA you will be given exposure to the full spectrum of the financial services industry, working alongside industry professionals to make a difference to millions of consumers.
We regulate thousands of firms to improve conduct and fair treatment of customers, so your work will protect millions of people and have a positive impact on the wider economy. It's a tough job, but it’s also a fascinating one that will place you at the heart of the future of financial regulation.
Summer Internship Programme
Our ten-week summer internships offer a real insight into both the FCA and financial services. This is your chance to work and learn alongside industry experts, giving you everything you need to decide whether a regulatory career is for you.
You’ll work alongside experienced professionals on a challenging ten-week project. Playing an essential role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact. Your line manager will oversee your work and be your internal mentor. They will set your objectives, oversee your progress and give you on-the-job feedback.
You’ll also have the opportunity to give back through our corporate social responsibility day, and build your knowledge even further with our learning lunches. At the same time, you’ll be encouraged to meet and hear from our senior leaders at a series of speaker sessions. And you’ll be earning a competitive salary of £24,000 (pro rata) as you do it.
Successful interns could be offered a place on one of our graduate programmes at the end of the summer, so we ask that you are in your penultimate year of study and are on track to gain a 2.1 degree, or equivalent.
How to apply
All applications should be made online through our website. The first step is to fill out an application form online. You’ll then go through a series of online tests. These include a situational judgement test, a numerical reasoning test and a logical reasoning test. If you pass these you’ll be asked to complete a motivational questionnaire detailing what attracts you to the FCA. If you pass this stage you will move onto a telephone interview. The final stage of the process is an assessment centre.
