Business Development Placement

Working with our Business Development and Management Team on key business projects for the 12 month duration, you will be required to work in a flexible environment to operate across a number of disciplines from Sales and Marketing to Business Improvement. The role is also expected to support strategic projects for business units or market segments with a clear business benefit, which will help both you and Siemens gain the most out of the programme.

The position reports to the Marketing Manager

Key Activities

  • Market/Competitor Analysis - Undertake Industry market & competitor analysis / Maintain business division information to support strategy and business development. Support identification of white space to optimise resource and maintain online market information channels, publishing updated information on market trends and competitors
  • Information Management - Own and manage online channels for internal distribution of marketing information. Administer and further improve Business Development communication channels & promote information sharing across Management Team. Update and maintain focus vertical market intranet pages and explore mechanism of useful interaction through Siemens social media platforms
  • General - Support the “Power of One” and "Vision 2020" strategy and work closely with the sales and business management team in all areas to ensure success

Knowledge

  • Sound understanding of marketing principles and experience of developing marketing reports to support senior management decision making
  • Experience of working in an online environment with knowledge of relevant web development tools
  • Understanding of MS SharePoint web application platform
  • Capable of operating and liaison at all different levels including managerial, project and technical
  • Ideally have intermediate/advanced level Excel/PowerPoint skills

What do I need to qualify for this job?

You will be working towards or achieved a 2:2 or above degree in Business Management / Marketing and eager to start your career with one of the world’s foremost engineering companies. Successful candidates will have a demonstrable track record of being a self-starter and achieving their goals in the face of challenges, with a desire to enhance and improve the organisation that you work for, and a passion for bringing good technology into an operational business context where it can make an impact to the bottom line.

What else do I need to know?

Although based in Manchester, you may be required to spend some time at another Siemens location, so you will be required to travel and must be willing and flexible to relocate for short periods of time.
