About Cancer Research UK

Cancer Research UK pioneers life-saving research to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Our ground breaking work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer has helped to save millions of lives.

In the 1970s, only a quarter of people survived cancer. Today half do. This is good progress, but it isn’t enough. Looking to the future, we don’t just want to contribute to further progress, we want to accelerate it. We want to see three quarters of people beat cancer in the next 20 years. Every step we take towards accomplishing this ambition relies on every hour and every person. We want you to be part of the journey that will bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

Internships

In June, Cancer Research UK are offering around 40 internships to high-calibre individuals looking to gain work experience in the fields of events, marketing, policy, HR, finance and more. In the past, our interns have done everything from supporting large-scale fundraising events, to championing our campaigns at events for MPs, or creating scientific resources for the health sector. Our 12 week long internships are projects delivering above and beyond the work we already do, meaning that every hour our interns give brings us one step closer to beating cancer.

Whether you’re a graduate, undergraduate, or looking for a career change, you can develop your skills at one of the UK’s leading charities and make your progress, our progress. Whatever project you take on, you’ll have a dedicated intern manager who will support you through your projects and personal development. We’ll also provide you with training to enhance your own personal development, as well as advice on how to get a job within the charity sector. All of our internships are performed on a voluntary basis, but we will reimburse reasonable lunch and travel expenses.

Our Requirements

You need to be a strategic thinker, numerate and literate and also have confidence in using basic PC applications. You will need to be a good communicator and be able to take the initiative in carrying out work and research. Please take a look at the individual internship role profiles to confirm the specific skill requirements of each role.

Additional Information
