This twelve-month placement within the Crop Protection Division at BASF Plc, located near Manchester, is an excellent opportunity to join over 100,000 employees at the world's leading chemical company and gain valuable insight into the dynamic business environment of a global organization.

  • As a Procurement and Controlling Administrative Assistant, you will support the procurement process and ensure that purchasing documentation is accurate, timely and compliant to allow the Division to operate effectively.
  • You will be responsible for the timely processing of procurement activities in SAP.
  • In addition, you will ensure data entry is completed accurately, with correct documentation and authorization.
  • Communicating purchase orders to the internal customers, managing the previous year accruals and reviewing open POs to close where necessary, will also be part of your responsibilities.
  • Also, you will ensure colleagues and buyers are all aware and supporting compliant procurement processes.
  • As well as supporting the delivery of KPIs set by the central procurement hub, you will also assist your Line Manager in the review of internal procurement reporting.
  • Finally, you will support general administrative and database duties as requested.

What we expect

  • You are working towards a business or financial related degree, on course for at least a 2:1.
  • You are confident working with IT programmes, previous experience using SAP would be an advantage.
  • You are able to work to strict deadlines, ensuring that you produce quality and accurate work.
  • Finally, you are able to work as part of a team and have exceptional communication skills.
