About BP

We’re powered by different perspectives. Together, we’re combining our knowledge, skills and ideas to create a brighter future for energy. Whatever your background – chemist or engineer, technologist or trader – you’ll find a future here at BP.

We find, develop and produce energy resources, every day – energy that’s behind the products that keep us all moving. That’s a challenge we rise to as a team. From creating industry-leading infrastructure to developing new, sustainable technologies, it takes all sorts of people to make our work possible. You could be one of them.

Supply and Trading Internship

The supply and trading business is the commercial face of our organisation – it’s where we buy and sell energy and transport resources to customers. And as one of the leading traders of oil and gas in the world, it’s an impressive operation. The rapid flow of information is crucial to the success of BP’s supply and trading business. And it’s the work of a global, dedicated, information technology and services (IT&S) division that makes a difference. Delivering innovative IT to the business, IT&S enhance supply and commodity trading across supply and trading’s global gas and oil strategic performance units.

As a summer intern, you’ll have the opportunity to directly experience the role of technology within supply and trading and its importance to our bottom line. It’s an opportunity to gain an understanding of our business and the opportunities available within a global organisation that’s truly committed to your development and success. During the summer internship programme you will be assigned to one team but will have the exposure to the business, senior leaders and current graduates needed to make a decision about your future.

If you excel during your internship, there is also an opportunity to be assessed to join our graduate programme where you could continue to hone your expertise, share your opinions and shape the energy industry as a vital and valued member of the team. If you’re interested in excelling with BP, apply now.

Who we look for

Because we offer such a breadth of opportunity, you could come to us with a good degree in a range of subjects. What’s most important is that you have development skills in one or more of the following: C++, Java, .NET, scripting languages or XLM, and at least one object operational database. We’ll also expect you to have demonstrable experience of delivery using a broad set of technologies in an academic or business situation and experience of working with real time or large complex data sets.

Where to go from here

There’s more to our work and a career with BP than you could possibly imagine. So the next thing to do is get online and experience it for yourself. Please note that vacancies will be filled on an on-going basis after opening and we may close applications before the stated deadline. Therefore, we highly recommend you submit your application as early as possible in order to be considered for the opportunity of your choice.
