About BP

We’re powered by different perspectives. Together, we’re combining our knowledge, skills and ideas to create a brighter future for energy. Whatever your background – chemist or engineer, technologist or trader – you’ll find a future here at BP.

We find, develop and produce energy resources, every day – energy that’s behind the products that keep us all moving. That’s a challenge we rise to as a team. From creating industry-leading infrastructure to developing new, sustainable technologies, it takes all sorts of people to make our work possible. You could be one of them.

Electrical Engineer Internship

If you want to develop a rewarding career in electrical engineering, a BP internship could be the right choice for you. A fundamental requirement for all of our businesses, electrical power and systems provide us with the essentials – light, heat and energy. So whether that’s driving motors for our equipment, suppling the motive power to move products to the marketplace or providing the power for all related control systems, an internship at BP ensures that you’ll be involved in live projects and given real responsibility from day one.

As a BP electrical engineer, your electrical maintenance work will make sure that our production plants are safe and reliable. For our new onshore oil and gas processing plants and offshore oil and gas production platforms, you’ll design all the electrical systems and equipment. Power will be produced and used in the safest, more efficient and cost-effective way thanks to your hard work.

Our internships are designed to help you develop the skills and experience you need to give your career the best possible start. You’ll gain a unique insight into our work and experience what an incredible organisation BP is – and what it means to be part of it.

If you excel during your internship, there is also an opportunity to be assessed to join our graduate programme where you could continue to hone your expertise, share your opinions and shape the energy industry as a vital and valued member of the team. If you’re interested in excelling with BP, apply now.

Who we look for

Because we offer such a breadth of opportunity, you could come to us with a good degree in anything from mechanical and integrity instrument, to chemical, process or any energy-related engineering field.

Wherever your talents and aspirations lie, we expect a high level of academic achievement. But every bit as important will be the individual attributes and personal qualities you bring to our team.

Where to go from here

There’s more to our work and a career with BP than you could possibly imagine. So the next thing to do is get online and experience it for yourself. Please note that vacancies will be filled on an on-going basis after opening and we may close applications before the stated deadline. Therefore, we highly recommend you submit your application as early as possible in order to be considered for the opportunity of your choice.
