IT Placement

Spending your placement within the CAT Global Information Services (GIS) team will give you a broad experience in all disciplines of IT, covering IT projects , Incident and problem/change Support, Desktop Support, and Service request management.

IT Business Systems Analyst

You will have the opportunity to work on multiple IT projects across globally located Business units, working as part of a Global diverse team, working with Project Managers and Technical Leads following departmental processes. You will be responsible for gathering requirements, analysis, functional design, development specifications and testing.

IT Business Systems Support Analyst

As part of the team based in Peterborough you will be required to provide operational support across multiple globally used applications using ITIL processes including incident, problem and change management.

As part of the UK Support team you will be required to provide support at the contracted site and also remote support for any other Caterpillar site within the EMEA region. The role will cover desktop hardware, software, telephony support (depending on site location), printing and knowledge of ITIL. You will also have involvement in programmes to migrate operating system and replace hardware at “end of life”. You may have the opportunity to travel to different sites in the UK to provide support and will work within global or regional teams to provide functional, cross-location support for specialised areas such as servers, network, service management, projects etc.

The Person

Knowledge of networks PC software and hardware is essential. You should be motivated and quality driven, able to work independently using initiative within defined areas. Skills in fault finding and using logical methodologies as well as the ability to interact with people from the business at all levels would be advantageous.

Degree Disciplines Accepted: All Computing Subjects. You must be on track to achieve at least a 2:1.
