Quantity Surveyor Placement

The Challenge

Immerse yourself in our rail systems technology projects to put theory into practice, enhance your skills, and be ready for future graduate roles with us.

  • Get to grips with all aspects of Contract Administration – the mechanisms and procedures that apply at various stages of a contract
  • Roll your sleeves up for some Contract Practice, and immerse yourself in the day-to-day operations of the project
  • Understand the implications and obligations that apply to everyone involved in the contract
  • Look after the financial management aspects of your project, such as change procedures, valuations, loss and expense and final accounts
  • Prepare and present reports on the performance of a project
  • Give effective forecasting of costs, risks and their financial implications
  • Carry out measurement and quantification to cost things up
  • Seek out opportunities that strengthen your skills and knowledge and prepare you for a future with Siemens

The candidate

Here’s what it takes to join some of the world’s brightest minds. You:

  • Are an undergraduate studying Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management
  • Are comfortable in a team – liaising when needed with the finance, project management, engineering and planning departments
  • Have a head for numbers and are commercially savvy
  • Have good technical knowledge, or are able to pick up and apply new concepts quickly
  • Are confident and comfortable dealing with more senior members of the team
  • Are a curious self-starter and want to work in an environment where innovation has a real impact on the world
