Industrial Application Support Coordinator Placement

Volvo Penta has initiated an in depth analysis of the UK Industrial business to identify new business opportunities by segment and secure new sales. This will mean for each customer a specific product solution will need to be scoped, technically assessed and then sold to that OEM.

Working with the Industrial Sales Manager and Industrial Application Engineer you will be required to understand a specific customer, the scope of their business, the technical fit of the Volvo Penta product and provide a technical solution to install in the customers product range.

Key Projects:

• Support Sales and Application engineering to secure new business through the market study.
• Specify the correct technical solution, perform installation audits, create reports for use by Volvo Penta and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) detailing requirements
• Communicate changes require to the OEM to meet installation requirements
• Support developments on creating Open Powerpack Units for the pump market using MD5 and MD 8 products.
• Support Sales on technical aspects during customer visits.
• Work with our dedicated Centres on improving their technical knowledge and help Dealer Business Managers develop technical tools to improve network capability on industrial applications.

Other duties:

In addition to the core projects, this new role will also support the wider remit of the Penta UK team, with a range of tasks to support team deliverables.

• Developing generic presentations for Generator, Marine generator, Marine commercial and industrial applications.
• General assistance to other members of the team as required
• Any other duties as assigned

Competencies, skills and knowledge required:

• Team player
• High level of computer literacy, including all standard Microsoft packages.
• Excellent level of written & verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to present ideas in a logical & practical manner
• Strong understanding of Electromechanical systems
• Willing to travel, stay away overnight & work some weekends in supporting customer testing or key exhibitions
• An interest in the automotive, truck, off highway, industrial and agriculture, segments
• High energy levels; creative & enquiring
• Willing to learn, develop & contribute quickly
• Ability to work well under pressure & to stringent deadlines
• Ability to handle a number of tasks, along with core project, at any one time
• Ability to communicate at all levels in the group
• Current driving licence
