About Volvo Group & the Department

Roadcrew Solutions delivers Volvo Group UK’s Extended Offer portfolio. Key areas of the business include parts for Trailer, other vehicles outside the Volvo Group, Workshop equipment, consumables and chemicals.

Roadcrew has a number of routes to market / lead generation sources: Commercial Websites, advertising, publishing, dealer incentives, as well as a recent drive towards social media on Facebook, Twitter etc. The successful candidate will therefore take on the project as detailed below.

Product Marketing Support Coordinator Placement

We have an exciting opportunity within our department where the successful candidate will be able to contribute to the team and make a real change. The role reports directly to the Commercial Manager, where there is opportunity to provide a new perspective on day to day duties within the team.

Responsibilities:

Working on various projects you will get to learn about different areas of the department which will give you a sound and broad understanding for your time after University.

In essence, the key projects being:

  • To carry out a comprehensive review & assessment of all Roadcrew competitors, including benchmarking on service and price.
  • Work closely with the Product Team to rationalise suppliers and maintain the core product scope.
  • To deliver and implement a marketing plan that is based on specific agreed actions resulting from review, including measurement & ROI and presenting this to dealers when necessary.
  • To work closely with Product Marketing on the new initiatives with websites and social media whilst analysing the effectiveness of these mediums. This includes SEO and content creation of said websites, campaign creation and management and assisting with the social/digital media plan.
  • To provide recommendations regarding future marketing spend particularly with regards to online, social media and classified advertising.
  • Based on research results develop a longer term marketing plan for the Roadcrew Management team.
  • Managing creation and distribution of marketing materials to dealer network, liaising with external agencies and clients.

Other Duties:

In addition to the core project, this new role will also support the wider remit of the Roadcrew department, with a range of tasks to support team deliverables & providing a broader marketing & communications experience for the successful applicant.

  • General assistance to other members of the marketing team as required, in particular with actions relating to events & network marketing
  • Any other duties as assigned

Current degree requirements:

  • Studying for a marketing/communications degree or related business degree.
  • 2 years completed – placement between 2nd & 3rd study years.
  • Academic grades on track for a first or high 2:1 on their chosen studies

Competencies, skills and knowledge required:

  • Good presentation skills
  • Understanding and appreciation of key marketing principles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Team player
  • High level of computer literacy, including all standard Microsoft packages.
  • Familiarity with the breadth of digital media in B2B – internet, social media, e-marketing, site optimisation techniques, content creation, etc.
  • Excellent level of written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High energy levels; creative & inquisitive
  • Willing to learn, develop & contribute quickly
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to stringent deadlines
  • Ability to handle a number of tasks, along with core project, at any one time
