About RBS

A programme with us is about more than just the chance to learn. It’s about making a difference. It’s about applying your talent, and turning your ideas into actions. That’s why we’ll support you, and give you every opportunity to make your mark. If you have talent, energy, and the commitment to help shape our business, a career with us is a challenge that will inspire and motivate you.

We want you to make a real contribution to RBS. You can look forward to early responsibility, exposure across different business areas, exceptional training, and the chance to develop skills that will shape the rest of your career. And then there are your colleagues, buddies and managers, who’ll encourage you to share your opinions and ideas, helping you reach your full potential.

Internal Audit Internship

If you’re confident and not afraid to challenge others, then why not apply for our Internal Audit internship. All we ask is that you’re in penultimate year of your degree, and we’ll give you the experience and support you need to start your career.

Our purpose is to keep the bank and our customers safe by helping our colleagues put the right controls in place. We’re independent of the business, we call out risks by asking tough questions and we challenge everything.

With keen regulator interest and evolving customer needs, it’s a challenging time in the financial services industry. And you’ll play a key role in providing assurance that RBS has an effective control environment in place to meet these challenges.

What you can expect

Our interns spend ten weeks with one of our business facing teams in either Edinburgh or London. You’ll help us to provide objective testing and assurance. You’ll work side by side with experienced Auditors and business stakeholders to shape audit objectives, understand processes, find risks, test controls and contribute to final reports on your findings.

You’ll work with other interns to deliver projects, but also have the chance to work independently on an individual report. We’ll assess your interpersonal, collaboration and decision making skills, as well as the impact you make to our audits.

Who we’re looking for

Whatever your degree discipline, you will require sound analytical skills, along with the ability to prioritise effectively. You’ll be adept at communicating, verbally and in writing and be comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders and confidently challenge others.
