    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I was involved in many projects and enjoyed my role and responsibility. The only downside was that I knew i would do more if i was actually a graduate!

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • They all embraced me and tried to help and guide me on tasks they knew i would be learning on the job. Due to our busy work, we sadly did not get many chances to socialise out of the office!

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • 3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This was a good balance. I could always go on time if my share of work was done, and i appreciated this.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a huge amount of responsibility to attempt and learn on the job, and thrived on this. I did everything i knew how to, and attempted it harmlessly if i could not.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Hugely. I learnt a lot of valuation techniques which will make my lectures much easier to understand. Unfortunately it is not possible to cover my entire degree in one go!

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • A great balance between banter and professionalism.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Brilliantly. I felt at times like a graduate, had my own responsibilities on the first day and was more than happy to offer my services and skills to help out.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • As m,uch as possible bearing in mind our schedules. We had good department over views and i was involved in a lot of work in my team. I noted that if i was a graduate i would be taking part in a lot of lunch and learns for an APC, but for us it was more about learning the company and we were able to do so well/

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would absolutely love to work for Savills. Due to my status as a first year undergrad i do feel like i have a lot to learn and more opportunities will open up later on, but i appreciate the chance i have been given at this stage and hope i will form a good relationship with the company which i can build a career on in the near future.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Indeed, we all travelled between offices together, shared our contact details and organised social drinks and events out of office hours.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I had a long commute so it was rather pricey on the train. Plus, it's Mayfair... Everything costs a fortune. But nothing unexpected.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Very good i have heard, although due to my long commute i was often travelling home by 8.30pm.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Good opportunities such as a rounders social event and some members of my team attended Ascot, although i was not able to go.
