    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great atmosphere. Fun and colourful with a lively working environment. Perfect balance between relaxed and professional. One of the biggest highlights of working for HP especially with so many other interns in the office.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Internship set up well, in particular the month hand over you get with the previous intern you are replacing; not being chucked in at the deep end.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • On the job training with the intern you are replacing for the first month. The chances to do on-line training on programs you are unsure of throughout the year.

    Sports and Social Club

    Financial Bonus

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Great chance to network whilst on placement. Get to know areas/people who work within the areas offering graduate roles for the future. Great foot in the door.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The interns run a committee which looks after events, charity and the intern summer ball. Throughout the year the interns attend nights out including inter-company socials so not only do you get to mix with other people at HP but interns from Microsoft, Panasonic and many more from the Reading/ Bracknell area. The interns also get involved in lots of charity events and raised over £25k this year of which a % goes towards funding our summer ball.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Pretty cheap, live in Reading which has a lot of students and therefore student nights out. House rent was £300 a month.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Reading isn't really my type of night life but in terms of getting people out from other companies etc it was really good.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, especially charity events - the 3 peaks being one of them.

    4/5
