As a paid intern with Enterprise, you’ll learn what it takes to run a successful business while acquiring valuable skills and experience covering everything from fleet management and marketing to profit and loss analysis and sales techniques. And you’ll be learning by doing too, taking on the same challenges as our first and second year full-time professionals.
From a few weeks over the summer to a year-long placement, we can offer plenty of flexibility with regards to how long your internship lasts. There’s plenty of scope for promotion too, including the chance to work your way up from an intern into a professional role when you graduate.

What was the application process like?
The application process was very smooth and easy – plus it helped that the Enterprise website outlined the whole process from start to finish. Make sure you’re as accurate as possible on the application form though, and take time to answer any specific questions. Do that, and a recruiter will be in touch with you extremely quickly. I had a phone call the very next day!
What did you do on a daily basis?
Working in an Enterprise branch is incredibly varied. One day I can be in the office calling customers and the next I will be out on the road making sales calls. I got a good sense of all areas of the business, from sales to customer service.
Highlights of the job?
I really liked how busy I was on my internship with Enterprise. From day one, I was given lots of responsibility, and that motivated me to do the best I could. Plus there was a great team of people around me providing support, and that really helped me to make the most of my internship.
What was your greatest challenge?
I struggled slightly with the sales aspect of the job at first as I hadn’t had a direct selling role before; however, my manager was a great help and of course, there were many training opportunities available which helped me to improve my skills.
What did you learn on your placement/internship?
My internship with Enterprise has improved my skills in many areas. My sales knowledge and people skills have benefited and my problem solving abilities have greatly improved too – which is great news, as solving problems provides me with a great sense of achievement.
How has this placement/internship affected your career prospects?
I believe that this internship has greatly enhanced my career prospects. First and foremost, it’s provided me with a great deal of business experience which will benefit both me and my CV. Secondly, I have the possibility of returning to Enterprise when I graduate.
What is the social life like?
The branch atmosphere is vibrant and as most employees start as an intern or graduate, everyone understands being new! There are also various dinners, lunches, sales events and get-togethers which allows for socialising between branches.
Any top tips for students interested in a placement/ internship here?
Go for it! The experience that I have gained and the people I have met have made the internship very worthwhile. Top tips would include not putting off doing the application forms and making sure you give 100% at the assessment centres and interviews to make sure that you show that you are the right candidate for the job.
