Insight Day Pick up loads of information about our work and decide which of our career options interests you most on this highly interactive day.
Insight Academy Lasting for 3 days in April, July or September, this programme for first-year undergraduates will boost your employability skills and give your career a jump start. You could also land an internship or business placement the next year.
Insight Partner Shadowing Find out what it takes to make it to the very top in a firm like ours. On this programme, open to all undergraduates, you’ll shadow one of our female partners for a week. Impress us and you could well earn a place on our insight or graduate programmes.
Penultimate year undergraduates
Insight Internships If you’re in your penultimate year, build your skills and your confidence by working alongside specialists in your chosen business area for six weeks during the summer. Insight Business Placements Work on real projects, learn about our business, get exposure to a prestigious client list and start working towards a professional qualification. These six and eleven-month placements in Assurance, Financial Advisory or Tax are for students who need to complete a placement as part of their degree and could lead to a full-time job offer. Don't miss our new placements within human resources. Visit our website to find out more.
Final year students
In short, this is your chance to enjoy a huge variety of experiences, develop an enormous breadth of skills and build relationships that will stay with you throughout your life. As well as exposing you to many different clients, projects, roles and business areas, our graduate programme offers exceptional training and development opportunities, plus of course support towards a professional qualification. Like all PwC people, you can also look forward to a competitive salary and a personally tailored benefits package. We have full time opportunities for graduates in each of our business areas; Assurance, Consulting, Tax, Financial Advisory, Actuarial and Technology.
What you need
- A 2:1 or above in any degree discipline
- A UCAS tariff of at least 300 (or 260 for Technology)
Equally important will be your ability to build relationships, to put yourself in others’ shoes and make a positive impact on our clients and us, while shaping your own future.
Exceptional exam results or exceptional potential?
Of course you’ll need to be bright to hold your own here. That’s why we look for a 2:1 or above plus at least a 300 UCAS tariff. But maybe you don’t have the grades we’re after because you’ve invested time in extra-curricular activities that show you’re exceptional. If so, you could still join us. ‘Inspired Talent’ is a new entry route that recognises exam results aren’t the only way to prove you have potential.

How have you enjoyed your work placement, and what was your favourite aspect?
I’ve really enjoyed my work placement with PwC and I’m very glad that I chose the firm over my other options. It’s great to be put in a year group with other new joiners and be able to go through the whole process together. My favourite aspect of the job has been the variety of work. Almost every week is different from the last, from a new client or location to a different area of the audit. I felt that the role was constantly changing and I was able to make it my own to allow me to work on my areas of weakness.
How much responsibility are you given during your placement?
You’re given a lot of responsibility straight away but don’t worry as this is after some very thorough training. I was given full responsibility of particular areas of the audit but there was always someone on each job who was there to help with anything I wasn’t sure about. My work was always reviewed by someone more senior who was able to provide constructive comments that helped me to develop my working practices. ‘This was extremely important due to the amount of responsibility that was given to me.
To what extent will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist in your degree studies and beyond?
Having the opportunity to start the ACA qualification and therefore get ahead in my career has been particularly helpful to me, especially as I intend to come back to PwC after I finish my University degree. It is a tough qualification but it has been great to do it with a support network of people in the same situation. In addition to the qualification, I’ve also learnt a lot of employability skills, such as teamwork and organisational skills which will help me in the final year of my degree and in my future career.
How did you come across your placement, and how did you find the application and on-boarding experience?
I already had some knowledge of PwC before looking into placements as I knew several people who worked here. However I actually found out about the opportunity from a placement and careers event at my University. The application process was relatively quick and straightforward compared to some others that I applied to but there was one question that involved a lot of research and careful planning in order to answer in appropriately. The on-boarding process was excellent and had all been carefully planned to ensure that we were introduced to the firm, our peers, and the office we would be joining. In total there were two weeks of training and introductions which provided all the key information that we needed for the role.
