The Role
I had an amazing experience working with the Retirement team in Leeds for Towers Watson. I would have preferred it to be longer than 6 weeks because of how much fun I had while I was there.
Everyone was extremely welcoming and throughout my internship I was praised and encouraged to work hard and attend social events.
I was sat next to my line manager which was really useful. If I had any questions he was happy to help.
For most of my internship I had work set but often found myself asking for work a lot because summer is a quieter time in the office. The work load was manageable once I found work and couldn't really complain.
The right amount of responsibility for an intern.
I picked up a great deal - from learning how to interact with colleagues to using mortality software! Definitely will take a lot from this internship.
The Company
Extremely friendly. Everyone got on well and worked as a team. This is what attracts me most to the Leeds office.
Projects were handed out later on in the internship however they hadn't been organized prior to our arrival. We had to find work on a day to day basis.
Received a lot of training sessions and was frequently asked how I was getting on. This added to how valued I felt from the team.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Haven't found out if I got the job yet but would love the opportunity to go back and work for Towers Watson after university!
The Culture
Frequent social events! We had a well organized sports day, pub Friday, nights out together, etc.
Leeds can be expensive to live in but I stayed with my parents who live locally. In terms of socializing, the prices are fair.
Brilliant night life in Leeds.
Went for meals etc.
