  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I did work that they would have done if I wasn't there, hence I felt valuable to the company.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given training at the start of the internship, and was also assigned a buddy who was always happy to answer my questions.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days were very busy, although I never felt overwhelmed, whereas other days I had less to do so spent time on voluntary training. Overall, perhaps a little bit more work would have been welcome.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As mentioned, I was doing the same work as employees which meant I had plenty of responsibility.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I developed excel skills which will be useful in my degree. More importantly, I learnt a lot about the pensions industry which I know will be very useful for applying to jobs.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The highlight of the internship was the people - everyone was very friendly and happy to answer any questions I had.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Graduate recruitment were very helpful leading up to the internship, and my manager ensured I settled in fine when it actually started. I was also given a tour and folder with all lots of useful information, such as a telephone list.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Like previously discussed, I had training in various areas which will be useful at university and even more so in future work.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would love to work for Towers Watson in the future! The internship is a great way to securing a Graduate position too - it's too early for me to say whether I've secured a position.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Welcome meals, drinks celebrating associates passing their exams and socials meant there were plenty of opportunities for fun.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived in university accommodation so got a very good price for the city centre. Manchester is great in that it's a large city, but isn't very expensive (like London, for example).

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It's Manchester...

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Again, it's a city so there's plenty of things you can get up to. The Arndale is great for shopping, there's the huge Printworks cinema and there are plenty of sports centres.

    5/5
