About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the in-depth Insight into Towers Watson and all the business divisions of the company. The programme was very well organised, with ample opportunities to network with senior level employees.
From participating in case study debates to networking sessions and also a presentation on how to become more employable I felt that I was valued throughout the day.
There was sufficient support in the Insight Day Programme to the extent that we were given detailed presentations and opportunities to present arguments over a variety of topics. We were all also given the opportunity to apply for the position of Brand Ambassador.
I personally obtained more relevant information regarding my future career from the Towers Watson Insight Day than from the other Insight Programs I participated in .
The Company
The Insight had a clear structure that allowed us to apply what we were hearing and learning from senior employees into smaller group case study and presentation activities. This was followed by an employability session at the end of the program. There was also various opportunities to network throughout the day.
The atmosphere was welcoming and encouraged asking questions in order to obtain as much information as possible.
It was made clear that if we were to chose Towers Watson as a company that we would like to work for, then we would receive great support when working as well as when studying for exams in order to become an Actuary.
There was a very clear perception that Towers Watson is a firm that prides itself on professionalism and can prove this due to the impressive record it has advising industry leaders for many years.
Providing cutting-edge solutions at the forefront of the industry was a key phrase that was used throughout the day to demonstrate the ambitions of the company. Overall, I would say I clearly understand the company culture.
The employability session was very useful as it demonstrated the skills and abilities that were required. We were then guided by recently employed graduates who discussed the Actuarial examination process with us. Finally, we were shown that there is a clear, tangible career path within Towers Watson and the opportunities to work in other countries that this provides.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed expenses up to the value of £50.
There was networking opportunities throughout the day as well as during breaks between the schedule.
Employees from different levels in the company were very approachable and open to talk about their experiences at the company in terms of examination periods and also career progression.
I did not find out about any activities that occurred outside the office.
I would certainly recommend this Insight to a friend and anyone who is undecided about their career choice in finance.
