  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a good experience and I was provided with many opportunities which have helped to develop me as a person

  • I feel very much part of the team, I am able to relate with them and as the placement continues, I feel this improves over time

  • I was given a fair level of support. You should not however be scared to ask, as they are more than happy to help, if you just ask!

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It really depends on how much you want to take on. I love being busy and having things to do so when I had nothing to do, I would offer to help out with my team's functions thus getting a better insight into my team's functions

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As I became more proficient, I was given more responsibility, which I saw as my team trusting me with more difficult tasks

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • These are skills you cannot learn from a textbook (for example, interpersonal skills, communication, how to work as a team). By being able to make mistakes, i have been able to assess what works and what does not. This will be useful for university

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Once I built more of a rapport with my team, it was a lot of fun. It has meant that the time has flown by and I have really enjoyed the placement (along with the work)

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • As this is a yearly process, it was well organised. I was provided with a lot of support from Foundation (the community that looks after interns) and there was a great community within the interns.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I have gone on three educational events to hone in on my employability skills. There has also been opportunities and courses run over lunch, which engage you with the rest of the organisation.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • As the company is constantly evolving, it is hard to tell what the future prospects are. It is a very exciting period nevertheless to be in the company.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes. The interns were great fun to be with and there was regular socials, for those who want it.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It is much cheaper than where I go to university. The taxis are extremely cheap! Obviously, the thing to consider is that the more time you spend in a place, the more acquainted you are with it and hence you are aware of the savings you can make within the different areas.

  • I am not that sort of person so I am not well suited to answer this question.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were opportunities to provide support to the local community, in particular the schools with mock interview days.
