We run an exciting 12 month placement where you are given an opportunity to work in a role and on real projects, making a difference in both your team and the company as a whole.

As the Sales Application Engineer (SAE) Placement Student within this very busy department, you will be an integral member of the SAE Team and will support key projects throughout the year. This role involves dealing directly with CPG teams, distributors and end customers on subjects such as seminars, technical matters and training needs.

Responsibilities

• Involvement in the development of new Training material.
• Support Distributors with Level 1 technical enquiries and also Support other Application Engineers within the team as necessary.
• Assisting with the preparation of seminars in the factory and abroad.
• Be the SAE contact for Distributors within assigned area.
• Sourcing information, interpreting, developing and implementing achieving results to agreed deadlines.
• Supporting the department on key tasks and projects, supporting team members, working both independently and within teams.
• Embracing the Company values and mission; and representing and promoting Cummins Power Generation to the Customer, internally and externally.

Training Provided

• A comprehensive induction programme as well as role specific training.
• Individual training to suit particular business skills required by the business or identified by the candidate.

Skills and Experience Required

• Studying for an Engineering or science related degree.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent IT skills to include Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Flexible and proactive attitude with a desire to learn and take on responsibility.
• Some experience of working within the engineering will be advantageous but not mandatory.

To be eligible for our 12 Month work placement you must be a university student who has a placement year option as part of their degree programme. You will spend a year in a specific department to gain real experience in your subject area. You are supported by formal and informal training, and work on projects that add true value to the business.
