About Cummins

At Cummins Power Generation we recognise that having experience of the working world during your university degree provides a key insight to the practical application of your learning. We run an exciting 12 month placement where you are given an opportunity to work in a role and on real projects, making a difference in both your team and the company as a whole.

As the Quality Placement Student you will:

• Support the continuous improvement of both process and product design across the Kent plant.
• Provide quality support to both internal manufacturing operations and external customers.
• Facilitating the manufacturing processes including the resolution of action items across the plant.
• Facilitating quality improvement teams in the use of quality tools including 7 step and 5 whys.
• Participating in and supporting customer visits, both internal and external, from customers based in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
• Working on customer facing issues with Customer Service, Aftermarket and Warranty departments. Supporting the department in completion and resolution of internal and external quality audit findings. Management of the calibration programme.
• Completing data analysis and reports as requested by the Quality Leadership.
• Working on continuous improvement initiatives both independently and within teams.
• Supporting the department on key tasks and projects, supporting team members, working both independently and within teams.
