Meet Phillippa
- Name: Phillippa
- University: Nottingham Trent University
- Course: Business Management and Human Resources
- Position: Graduate and Student Recruitment Coordinator
I applied to the IBM placement scheme because of the reputation of not only the scheme itself, but also the company. I feel proud to have been a part of such an innovative and exciting organisation that continually develops, especially during this Centennial year.
As a Graduate and Student Recruitment Coordinator, I gained a high level of responsibility from day one and this continued throughout my placement.
IBM’s culture is welcoming and there is always someone on hand to offer their support and guidance. I have thoroughly enjoyed my year due to the people and the abundance of opportunities to develop my skills.
Thomas from Cambridge University, studying Economics tells us about his experience on the Extreme Blue Programme as a Business Student.
I picked Extreme Blue because I wanted an internship where I had real responsibility, real work, and a real challenge. I got all three, and much more!
The internship is, in a nutshell, creating an entirely new product for IBM in just 12 weeks, and presenting it at an expo in Europe at the end. It’s a significant challenge, so IBM make sure you have access to their best and brightest, give you all the support you could ever want, and give you plenty of amazing technology to play with. The application process is very competitive, so the people you work with are extremely knowledgeable and I’ve learnt an awful lot from my team.
If you want an internship where you are pushed hard, learn quickly, and end with a sense of real accomplishment, IBM Extreme Blue is for you.
