  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Work was always really challenging and you are given responsibility on live projects from day one. Was given a wide variety of projects and you are encouraged to meet with people from all over the business.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Networking was incredibly easy, people are really approachable and no matter how busy will always give you 15 minutes to talk about them and their role, This really is what you get out you put in if you make the effort to meet people early it makes the whole process so much more pleasurable.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • On two of my projects I was dealing directly with key stakeholders and given project management roles early on which made me directly accountable.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Haven't gone back to University yet but the keen focus on personal development at Unilever meant that it provides a very steep learning curve and with the responsibility given you are forced to test these skills in the workplace.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The culture at Unilever is based around personal growth you are actively encouraged through HR projects to take time to exercise and make sure you are not "living to work". The atmosphere is very relaxed as long as you are performing to the level required of you, but the atmosphere at Unilever could be defined by the flexibility to allow you to get the best out of yourself.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Really well organised took less than a week to have everything set up and organised. Was issued a laptop and all required software on first day and had all been set up prior to arrival. My manager and director had worked on a work plan and time was set aside in first couple of hours of arrival to go through this.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company intranet has a huge number of personal development resources; further to this I had a mentor who worked with my manager to understand where the best improvements could be made.

  • Lived in Wimbledon where rent was not too bad and then commuted in to the city everyday as office is in Blackfriars (Was able to get a monthly oyster card which for Z1-3 is £144) but it was still London so everything is a bit more expensive.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Worked in the City so a lot of bars around, Clapham, Wimbledon, Brixton and Elephant and Castle have good nightlife but as with everything in London getting to them then getting home is not as cheap or easy as most places.
