  • Really enjoyable, gained a lot of experience

  • Lots of interesting work to keep me busy.

  • I was given a large amount of responsibility during my placement, which helped me build significantly on my skills.

  • This placement really allowed me to build on my skills and develop new skills, skills which I will be able to take with me and apply to future jobs and throughout my career.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very friendly atmosphere, everybody is happy to provide help and advice.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was the first year the HR Intern placement had been run, therefore initially the work was slow, however once the role developed this significantly improved.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I attended some training classes both online and onsite to help improve my skills required for the role. For example I took part in interview training which allowed me to interview a number of candidates for roles at GE Aviation.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would definitely consider GE as an employer in the future. There is a lot of opportunities globally with the organisation, and not only in Aviation.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, there was a large Graduate and Intern population, with many social events organised throughout my placement.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was local to the area, so was lucky enough not to have to pay rent. However the cost of living is relatively average in the area.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Lots of really nice bars, restaurants and clubs in the area, so you're not short of things to do.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Lots of opportunities to become involved in volunteering in your spare time with other graduates and interns working for the business. Along with several clubs and networks you can join, such as the Early Career Professionals Organisation and the Women's Network.
