    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Well structured, and being given the opportunity to spend the two weeks in one department was a very good way to get involved in work. It also provided a good opportunity to talk to more senior lawyers and begin to understand the work of the department in some depth.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • People were always very grateful when you completed work for them. It was also clear that the firm valued you being there through the numerous structured activities put on.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • A significant amount - several people took the time out to give advice, both on assigned work and the final interview. They were also very ready to give feedback on the work you produced. My trainee buddy, other trainees and more senior lawyers besides were fantastic in offering advice and taking time out to talk through the process, and what I needed to do to obtain a training contract.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Working in a litigation department reinforced and built upon much of what I had learnt on the LPC, particularly as it was my first opportunity to see a lot of these concepts in practice.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I think it provided a very good introduction. Although it is always going to be difficult to do over a two week period, I felt like I had a strong impression of the firm, particularly after meeting so many people from within it. The practice area presentations also gave an insight here.

    4/5

  • Yes, I was reimbursed adequately.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • I found several, however these were generally unstructured within the scheme, so might not always be the case.
