The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Great experience, and I learned a lot. Also they really cares about the interns!
110% valued ! My colleagues were the best, they were able to help me out, offer advice, and give me their time when I needed it.
I would rate 100% if it wasn't for the fact that my manager was new to her role and was adapting to it while I'm there so she was a bit busy. Other than that, she was really great !
Not too busy everyday, however, there were days where I would stay longer than the working hours and days where I would feel like I had nothing to do due to my managers busy schedule.
Quite a lot. Worked on a few projects and took lead in some.
I think it'll help a lot in my masters of management. I'll be able to go back to my degree and link a few skills from my internship to how its theoretically applied in my course.
The Company
Fun honestly never stopped. Everything has the right balance though! Meetings will be taken seriously, however when it came to events such as birthdays etc. my team would put in effort to get the person a card/donut and make a fun spirits out of it! It was really nice and friendly (:
Initially I had to share a computer with another intern for a couple of weeks. Other than that, pretty organised ! All events were organised pretty well, however people did have a tendency to show up quite late to meetings !
We had online modules that we had to complete by certain deadlines, and HR did keep track on all of us to complete them. There was also a handover we had with the previous year long intern who taught us how to carry out many of the day to day reporting tasks.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Quite appealing, however my feedback for not getting into the graduate scheme was quite disappointing as I wasn't seen as able to communicate quantitative results in my 40 min interview.
The Culture
Yes, all interns were involved in many different activities and events that got us all to meet each other and become friends ! There were a lot of lunch&clean events for the summer interns that were basically presentations by different department leaders that introduced all of us to the different departments that work in loreal. It was really insightful and it helped us to get to know each other better
Cheap as fish and chips ;) many outings were subsidised and the cafeteria was super cheap compare to eating outside ! Id have gone there for good if it was available for everyone ! The quality of the food was great and so was the staff (:
Based on everyone else's comments, quite good! I went on the final one and it was a blast! Great effort put in by the the HR team (:
Not as many as I would have liked. There was yoga after 6 on wed, and some sport activities that weren't quiete as organised as I would have liked. I would have liked to join a dance society or swimming !
