The Role
I had an amazing time, I never had a day where I woke up not looking forward to coming to work.
I felt highly valued by all of my colleagues, and even though I was a placement student I was treated with the same respect and given the same responsibilities as even the most senior members of the company.
We had a very thorough training period in which we were very well supported while being prepped for our job roles, we also had monthly reviews with our mentors to help us with our development.
There is always something to do and I never found myself bored with no work.
I was given plenty of responsibility, as much as any other member of the company. I feel as though this did wonders for my development over the year.
During my placement I worked in many different areas, from web design to database management. This has given me a wide spectrum of invaluable experience which I'm sure will be a massive help in my future studies.
The Company
Very friendly atmosphere, there were regular social events and there was plenty of fun to be had in the office.
The work placement was set up very well, my supervisors had planned my induction through to my inclusion into the dev team very well.
Lighthouse invested almost 2 months worth of training for me, in which time they had me put up in a nice hotel. They also gave me the time for mentoring meetings and regular updates. They went above and beyond.

Very appealing, I would love to go back to Lighthouse, even if it were in a different role.
The Culture
Pub every friday and very frequent social events :D I couldn't ask for more than that. I have made some good friends
I commuted from Brighton, however the times we did go out were paid for by lighthouse so I'm not sure.
As I commuted from Brighton I only went out a few times, but the nightlife was pretty good, much livelier than I thought crawley would be.
There were plenty of opportunities, including football and golf.
