The Role
Overall it was a great learning experience. I enjoyed the nature of work that I did, the extent to whcih I was involved in the project and the mentoring and help I received during my internship.
Everyone was highly approahable and helpful. My opinion was asked for and valued as well. I was given ample freedom to carryout what was assigned to me. Inspite of being an intern I was treated like one among them.
Intellectually and infrastructure wise I was extended a lot of support. There was the right balance of monitoring and freedom. I was never found asking for guidance at the same time there was ample space for me to carry out my tasks.
Though the weekdays were pretty busy, I had the weekends for myself.
I was responsible for those sections of reports that I contributed to and was given enough freedom to plan my work..
I gained a lot of knowledge that too relevant to the course I am pursuing. My interpersonal skills too have become better. The fact that I was given an opportunity to work actively on a project with a client has boost my confidence a lot.
The Company
The atmosphere was congenial to work. While it was kept formal while dealing with clients, there was a lot of informal interactions and interesting discussions with tteam members. There was a team building event as well that I enjoyed a lot.
It started with a few introductory and training sessions. I was given enough time to understand the nature of work and the work culture. The difficulty of tasks given to me progressed with time as I learned more and more.
My seniors at work palce spent quality time with me to guide and assist me in my work. They monitored my progress well and were ready to help me always.
There is a good chance of getting a permanent offer from them.
The Culture
The interaction with other interns was good and at times we did get to work together as well.
London happens to be a city with a high cost of living, nevertheless I was adequately compensated for the same.
There was plenty of scope to have a great time in the city.
Since my stay was only for two months I did not get enough time to explore such opportunities. There was scope for me to do some travel and photography though.
