The Role
The second half of my internship was much better than the first, my job role changed and I was given more responsibility which I preferred.
Worked in a very close department (European Theatrical) where there were only about 20 people so everyone knew everyone else. The interns (there were five of us in my dept) were treated as full time employees and never as 'just an intern'.
When I needed help I was given it but we had a weeks handover at the beginning where the previous intern taught me the majority of things I would be doing.
At the beginning I was very bored but once my job role changed things were a lot better. I still feel I could have been busier but my work load varied depending on which films I was working on.
Warner Bros. interns are given a lot of responsibility which is great. I worked on my own projects, dealt directly with brands and agencies and was able to approve the majority of media promotions myself.
I don't feel I learnt any new skills, just had a chance to develop skills I already had. It was a good experience working in a corporate environment as I hadn't done that before.
The Company
There was a mixture of both, the dull parts could be quite dull but the fun parts were incredible.
Extremely well organised. There were about 30 interns and the programme over the year was very well structured and organised from before I started, during my time there and now I'm leaving.
There was an intern training programme providing courses such as communications skills.
Company Parties/Events
I would like to go into a career in creative advertising which isn't something Warner Bros. offer, however, I have met a lot of people through my job and I would like to work for Warner Bros. as part of an agency.
The Culture
The interns socialised after work and during lunchtimes a lot. Everyone made an effort to make friends and get to know each other.
I lived in central London (Kings Cross area). I could walk to work which saved me a lot of money but the rent was very expensive. London is an expensive area to live but definitely worth it.
Very easy to get anywhere in central London!
Other than work events there wasn't much.
