The Role
I enjoyed my placement to an extent. P&G was a great company to work for however there was a lot of disorganisation in my team which left me feeling unsure.
I definitely felt valued by certain members of the team who did praise me for the tasks I did well. In some fields I was considered the expert which was a great feeling for an intern.
I was given a lot of support during my internship from my supervisor and manager however this didnt really extend into the wider team.
It definitely varied! When I first started the ratio was just right for the first 5 months. From month 6-9 it became very quite and I was doing small mini tasks. 10-12 I was extremely busy but it was a nice change.
I was given a lot of responsibily! At first I didn't know how to handle all the responsibility and I felt like I was left in the deep slightly but I can see why they did this as I came out on top and it left me feeling self confident in my skills.
The skills I have learnt are invaluable! I've learnt so much from lab skills to essay based skills to how to preform in a corporate company. It's great!
The Company
The atmosphere in my office was okay but it was very "cliquey" and I felt like some people didn't respect my skills and saw me as just the intern. Overall it was nice as we celebrated Halloween and Christmas by putting up decorations.
My placement was very varied. Due to the nature of the business my project constantly changed. This was both positive and negative. Positive because it gave me the opportunity to explore different aspects of the business but it was negative because just as I got into a project it changed.
The firm fully invested in my personal development! I went on many courses paid for by the company such as presentation skills and writing skills. They also made sure that I achieved every goal I set myself.

If you do well enough during your internship they will offer you a Hire Recommendation which invites you to come back for an interview once you finish your course and be in with a good chance to get a job.
The Culture
Due to the location there wasn't many students however we usually went to the local pub to spend time with colleagues.
The cost of living was quite high! and rent in the area was very high but there was definitely enough live on and enjoy yourself.
Absolutely 0 night life but it was quite quick and cheap to get to the next time or even London.
There were many sports clubs to get involved in and connect with people outside of work.
