The Role
I have loved this year! The amount of knowledge and skills I have gained is incredible! One of my best years yet!
As a BA you are extremely valued because the tasks you're doing are extremely vital to your department. If you don't do them nobody else will.
My manager and supervisors were present everyday and she would always check what I had a planned for that day. So she was aware of what I was up to
Everyday was jam packed, but in a good way. There was never a moment. When I don't have jobs that needed doing
I had quite a lot of responsibility, considering I was an intern. I would have certain BA task which I would take care of myself. This helped me learnt and gain skills required for the role.
At uni you learnt the theory behind fashion buying. But I think it's one of those jobs where you have to be doing it for real. So this year has taught me the role and what is actually required of you. I couldn't imagine not doing a placement as you just learn so much from it
The Company
The atmosphere at ASOS is always busy, there is never a dull moment. People are kind and always willing to help
The placement year was set up great. We had an induction on the first day and a tour of the building, also throughout the year we had training sessions focusing on softwere which is used at ASOS or what other departments do and how this affects what we do in our role. Then at the end of the year we had a final 1-1 with HR and a presentation to the other interns. So this year was very well organised.
Asos invested a lot of time to the placement students, especially getting other departments to talk to us, or organising lunches with the exec board. So time and effort was gone into us and we were not forgotten about
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
I think ASOS is a great company to work for and if there were jobs available when I finish uni I would deffinalty apply
The Culture
All the students were friendly and because of social work event such as Friday beers everyone could see each other more
Well I was able to live with family for year so I didn't pay rent. But socialising in London can be quite expensive, but if you just think before you spend you would be fine
Asos is in Camden so there are always restaurants and pubs near buy, so plenty of places to choose from
There were a lot of opporunitys such as the ASOS foundation or helping out at sample sales
