    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship was challenging and enriched by very open-minded and supportive people. You are truly driven to your extremes.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Very much so. The tasks we got were serious tasks, including independently managing projects. We have, also on the social front, formed a close-knit group and enjoy spending time with our colleagues outside the office as well (weekly drinks, etc.).

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Management was very supportive, by acting as mentors and organising extensive training sessions.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • We were busy, but it was never unreasonable. The key point is to feel that, after the internship, we have truly contributed to the firm and its clients - something that requires you to put in a fair amount of hours.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • We were quickly trusted to take on our own assignments, which grew in scope and responsibilities as the internship progressed.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The internship has provided the practical backdrop to my studies, and showed me on what areas to focus to achieve my goals. Very helpful, and eye-opening.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • General atmosphere was collegial and professional. We worked when work had to be done, but also took the opportunity for more personal interactions when time permitted.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised. HCM did an outstanding job - we knew what we had to do and when, both in the department as well as firmwide.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The amount of training we received was extraordinary, and all of it was done in very small group settings.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very much so - definitely aim to keep in touch.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • 3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living was quit high, unfortunately, but the firm took care to make sure we were paid enough to make do.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife is good, if a bit expensive.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, too many to sum up. This varies from sports and other social committees to gym sessions and drinks.

    4/5
