    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I had an enjoyable internship experience with my team. This boils down to mainly two reasons. Firstly, my team members were extremely pleasant to work with and were very supportive. Secondly, the work that I did was interesting and it was an area I want to delve further into.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I enjoyed working with my colleagues and am glad they trusted me with their work and were willing to teach me when I was either unsure or did the task wrongly.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I received a lot of support from both my line manager and buddy throughout my internship, especially at the start and with the models I have to use. The other members of my team were also very patient and willing to share their knowledge and guide me through.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was involved in contributing to a pitch book that was to be sent to a client. I also gave a presentation to my team to give them an overview of a sector the team wants to explore further. Hence, I think they were very willing to entrust us with responsibility.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • We had a presentation workshop which was useful for our end of internship presentation. Moving on, I think such soft skills would be beneficial for me in the future too.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very lively. It is a very sociable team and they joke around quite a bit.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was well organised, with a number of events planned up for us to let the interns either know each other better or find out more about the other business area.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company spent a lot of effort getting bankers with years of experience to talk to us about their product area. There were several training workshops and HR constantly kept in contact with us to find out what our concerns are and keep track of how we are finding the internship so they can make the experience better.
