  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Perfect insight into the life and work of a commercial lawyer.

    • The majority of my work made a direct contribution to a pro bono project and a range of client matters.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?

    • Throughout the scheme, I was supported by a supervisor, a trainee buddy, the entire graduate recruitment team and an Associate I shared a room with. In addition, colleagues in the Litigation department were extremely helpful.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • This comprehensive insight into the world and work of a full service, commercial law firm contributed directly to my GDL studies, in particular my independent research essay, and research skills.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • Well considered with a great balance of work and social time. Structured presentations and meetings provided extra information and diversity throughout the two weeks.

    • The firm's atmosphere felt welcoming, supportive, positive and fun throughout the entirety of the scheme.

    • I did not undertake any structured training on the scheme but the entirety of the scheme was an investment in my personal training and development.

    • The scheme gave a true insight into the everyday life as I was involved directly in the day-to-day life of the firm.

    • Being involved int he work at the firm and meeting lots of people through presentations, work and social events gave me a true understanding of the firm's culture.

    • My experience on the two-week scheme confirmed my desire to work there.

    • Pay covered accommodation, living and transport.

    • There were numerous work and social events for networking.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?

    • The networking events were brilliant as I could meet employees of different levels of seniority and from different departments. The social events were well attended by students on the scheme and employees and really great fun.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?

    • I learned of the numerous pro bono, sport and music opportunities as well as other societies and committees that the firm had to offer.
