    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight was very enjoyable. The Graduate Recruitment Team and lawyers at the firm were very welcoming, taking the time to share their experiences with us and involving us in any work/ activities that were available. There was a good balance between formal presentations and workshops and hand on work within our allocated departments. Similarly, there were many social events organised for us with many opportunities to network and meet new people.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everyone I met took the time to chat to me and was interested in my background and how I was enjoying the scheme. I was given a decent amount of responsibility and received constructive feedback after most tasks. In the context of our group presentations, we also received feedback and were ranked, our hard work was therefore recognised. All my supervisors took the time to take me out for lunch/ a drink on the last day and so did my trainee buddy, this made me feel very valued.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received support from the Graduate Recruitment Team and Partners who were always available and willing to discuss any issues. My trainee buddy was my main source of guidance. I saw her on a regular basis, giving her updates on how I was getting on. She took the time to give me advice and reassure me on the more stressful aspects of the scheme. Similarly, for our group presentations, our 'advisors' were always available and willing to help.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I gained a lot of legal work experience and an understanding of the work of a City Law Firm. This has enriched my profile and enabled me to talk about my experience at interview.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was very well structured with event almost every day and seamless organisation from the Grad Rec team.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • It was great, I made a lot of new friends and we were encouraged to make the most of social events and meet up as much as we wanted for out presentations. Lawyers at the firm also made the effort to come to events and meet us.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They invested a lot in setting up activities for us and providing us with goodie bags.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Having the opportunity to meet many trainees meant that I gained a good understanding of what a position at the firm would entail.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Again, meeting a lot of people at different levels and observing their interactions gave me a good understanding of the firm's culture, which appears to be collaborative, friendly yet hard working.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I confirmed my desire to become a trainee solicitor.

    5/5
