  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Very enjoyable indeed, ability to progress in terms of responsibility through the year. very friendly atmosphere, support and guidance available when requested.

  • trusted to give support, input into projects well valued. Completed projects implemented into the business and utilised.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • very good advice given, help in understading the basics of the purchaisng function. guidance given along with the responsibility to problem solve using initiative.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • could depend from day to day and from week to week. if overladen had no fear in saying so to reduce the load. ideal balance of time spent in acheiving goals and deadlines for Cummins, but also time to adress Uni work and community projects.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • not so much to be stressed, however I was solely responsible for the tasks assigned to me. management keen to understand how the placement feels about the level of responsibility at weekly reviews. HR similarly keen.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • all training required for the job was given, aswell as some which may not, but will be useful post placement. training provided in: Purchasing funtion / FE, business environment, customer service, team work, communication, products, project management, diversity, Cummins operating system, and at induction.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • focused, atmosphere meat that there was the quiet to work, but also chat and have a joke on occasion. friendly colleagues willing to help.

  • HR very good and responsive to queries. however plan fpr work could be better arranged.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • plenty of time taken for training. four training courses provided, specifically aimed at placement students provided by an exernal training company.

  • Extremely good, will continue relationships after leaving.

  • fairly good depending upon where you live / go out. in general very good.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • pretty good, unfortunatelly only one club in Stamford, but plenty of pubs, resteraunts. Funfair twice a year.

  • Cummins EEEC every employee every community programme endorded community activity.
