    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my year. I’ve had the chance to work with some amazing and intelligent people in a very interesting and pretty niche area, a chance I wouldn’t have got anywhere else.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued by colleagues, especially considering I have not yet been to University. I was given more responsibility than I expected and also recieved lots of thank you emails and an official thank you which maked me feel really valued.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Lots of support and guidance from my team leader, technical mentor and 'buddy'. This was paricularly impressive as my technical mentor was on long-term sick leave for part of placement.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Quite an easy-going pace but always had something to do. Some parts were much busier than others.

  • Very well organised, I had no problems.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, I think it depends on the indivduals but I had a fun year socialising with people from work. Really good social networking group which helped especially at the beginning.

    4/5
