The Role
Very interesting work, relaxed environment. Very well run - suitable work was set up for us upon arrival.
I was trusted to get the work done, and my opinions were listened to.
There was a senior engineer assigned as a mentor, who would help out with projects and had regular meetings to discuss progress, Anyone around the labs would help out if we were struggling.
It varied, but there was always some work to do.
All the projects I worked on were worked on entirely by placement students, and we were responsible for delivery and documentation, although everything was reviewed to provide guidance
Lots of useful technical skills that I had not previously encountered, as well as valuable 'soft' skills
The Company
